bulletI like how the author personalized the book. I felt like I was right there in the car and experiencing it first hand. The details used really helped you see the setting and sense all the emotions going on.
bulletI liked how the story dealt with tough issues in a real way. The story dealt with issues of death, friendship, and family life in a way that children can relate to and understand.
bulletI liked how the story was told. It was her retelling all that had happened to her in a creative way. The story was told in a way that you felt like Sal was telling it to you in the car personally.
bulletThis is a story about a thirteen year old girl who takes a road trip with her unique grandparents to follow the path her mother took when she left the family very abruptly. While on the trip, Sal humors her grandparents with stories of her neighbor Phoebe. At the end of the trip she finds a sense of closure to the whole journey taken, both on the road and in her life journey.
