A wonderful children's book for teaching
estimating skills.
Two boys, wanting to win a pair of All Star
Game tickets, go through several estimating activities on the way to the
store to enter their guess for the number of jelly beans in a jar. The
one boy is so impressed by the other boy's ability to estimate that he makes
a slight adjustment in the friend's estimate and ends up winning the two
tickets.
The author gives several activities with
estimation at the back of the book which could be used with children.
Good for students looking for ways to use their
multiplication skills--grade 4-6.
