Book is about Marty, an eleven year old boy from West
Virginia who finds a dog one night, names it Shiloh, and falls in love with
it. The problem is that the dog belongs to a mean hunter named Judd Travers.
Through a series of events, Marty saves Shiloh from Judd and strikes a deal
to keep him. The book is so well written. It is from the boy's point of
view. Easy to read and understand. Deep issues are able to be discussed.
Emotional needs are met, such as love and affection and a sense of
belonging. Great book to read in class.
