In this cumulative tale, a
wakeful flea a top a number of sleeping creatures causes a commotion, with
just one bite. This book has a humorous theme. There are all of these
sleeping creatures asleep on one bed piled on top of each other, and then a
flea hops on the sleeping pile and wakes all of them up. It is a comical
idea because it is not a true tale. It is such a cute theme, and plot
development with a little of a surprise at the end. Don Wood does a great
job illustrating this book, making the words come alive. This book is great
for slower readers because there are simple words. This book is very
entertaining and alive. It deals with sleeping and that is a common
activity that is experienced by every living creature. There is no
objectionable content in this book. It would be a fun book for kids to read
or have read to them in the classroom or the home.
