pioneer time period, as well as early relationship with Indians. |
| The Characters can be related to and evoke a
great deal of emotion. by the end of the book I felt like I was apart of the
story. |

| In the book Matt, a twelve year old boy, is
left in a new house while his dad goes to get the rest of his family. Matt
must provide for himself and take care of the new property in the wilderness.
He meets and Indian, and develops a friendship with the that clan.
