My Experiences with Clinical Depression
Seven years ago in July I
discovered that I didn't want to leave the house or answer the phone.
I felt constantly sad and cried frequently. Although I felt tired
all the time; I often could not get to sleep at night. It seemed
that I turned off the light and my thoughts started to raise. I
also lost my appetite and started to lose weight.
I knew I needed help, but I didn't
know where to start. I didn't know anyone with depression. I
remembered a counselor from Philadelphia College of Bible and made an
appointment to see her. After a brief talk about my symptoms, she
concluded that I was suffering fro clinical depression and that I should
see a psychiatrist for medication. I guess this is when I knew I
was really ill.
It took 2 1/2 years to find the right
combination of medications. Today, I continue on medication
and I still see the counselor periodically. For the first four
years I saw her every week,
Depression is curable with help.
Without help it only gets worse. I would be glad to talk to anyone
about my experiences and to direct you where to get help.
For further information look at Mentalhelp
Net which includes a depression questionnaire.
